(KUWAIT) - HSBC has launched onshore wealth management advisory services in Kuwait, expanding HSBC’s Global Private Bank offering in the country as part of HSBC’s commitment to provide investment and wealth management solutions to support clients to achieve their ambitions.
This recognition came in addition to three other wins for HSBC across the Middle East, including Best Bank for Transaction Services & Best Bank for Financing in Middle East.
The solar energy industry has developed rapidly across Middle Eastern markets in recent years, boosted by falling photovoltaic (PV) technology costs and a desire by national governments to demonstrate leadership on climate action.
Co-hosted by HSBC Saudi Arabia CEO Faris AlGhannam and SAB CEO Tony Cripps, the event was attended by business leaders from among China’s leading publicly listed companies, as well as start-ups, covering a range of sectors including biotech, FinTech, investment funds and Artificial Intelligence.
The current “one-to-one” investment ratios for renewables to fossil fuels must evolve rapidly, according to an HSBC spokesperson, who called for a global shift in the global energy economy. Zoe Knight, HSBC Group Head, Centre of Sustainable Finance, Head of Climate Change MENAT, lauded Qatar’s cleantech initiatives and efforts to add more renewables into its energy mix.
